Service Project: Quarter 2
Zine Factory Group: My group ended up separating and my partners joined in other service groups. I was left on my own to find/create a new service project. My decision was to create my own service project with the help of my housing RAs.
Service Idea: I want to create an interactive poster similar to the “Before I die..” murals and change the line to “I want to change…” My plan is to get large poster paper and hang it up in several floors of the Broadway housing building so that residents will have the chance to write down the changes they want to make in their own lives or in the people/area around them.

My Plan:
Meet with my RA’s/ Roz to discuss where I will be able to hang my poster (preferably the lobbies) and find out where to get poster paper
Buy colorful markers for people to use to write and restock if any markers die
Draw poster with the line “I want to change…” on it and then write a few personal examples of things I want to change so that the future viewers will be inspired to write their own ideas
Hang poster for several days and wait for residents to write on it (hopefully)
Bring poster to class to present everyone’s ideas
Mission Statement (Goal): My mission or goal for this project is to create an interactive poster inspired by the “What I want to do before I die” murals that will unite the opinions of Broadway residents on a single topic so that their voices can be heard on that subject.
