David Larsen’s Interpretive Themes is a short, overly repetitive reading about how interpretive themes contribute to the cohesive development of an idea/ideas, expresses meaning, organizes, links tangible resources to a universal concept, and expresses significance in meaning. (Larsen) The benefits Larsen brought to the attention of his readers is that, although there are some people who are talented and have great people/communication skills coupled with knowledge, no one is more prepared and successful than those who focus on an interpretive theme. By diving into an assignment, question, or problem, it is best to have a dominant interpretive theme before beginning research to better define the path you want to refine your information towards to better your presentation of information. I thought that Larsen did a great job of over explaining a simple idea.
What was the purpose of Larsen writing this?
Is it better to only have one interpretive theme or several for large research?
Why don’t more teachers emphasize the importance of interpretive themes for writing?
